1987 Home – Launched 19 May 1987

The new England home kit was launched on theĀ 19th May 1987 and made it’s first appearance in the 1-1 draw at home to Brazil in a friendly tournament. The shirt was retired on the 13th December 1989 as the team won 2-1 over Yugoslavia at Wembley. The kit was worn a total of 22 times including during the European Championships in 1988 where England crashed out during the group stage. The shirt saw Bryan Robson as captain for all but one of the matches.

The England home kit between 1987-89 contains the usual predominately white shirt with a navy blue polo neck collar that also has a thin white and red trim running round the centre. The left sleeve trim is red whilst the right sleeve trim is blue. Manufacturers Umbro place their navy blue logo in the top right of the shirt whilst the England national team crest is situated in the top left. The kit is completed with navy blue shorts with a red trim across the top and white socks.
