1988 Alternative – Never worn

The new England third kit was launched in 1988 and was the same design as the 1987 home kit and the 1988 away kit. The only occasion where this kit was seen in action was during an England u21’s match away to Turkey in 1991.

The England alternative kit contains a predominately light blue shirt with a navy blue polo neck collar with a light blue trim. The design of the shirt is styled with two similar tones of blue running in vertical stripes throughout. Manufacturers Umbro place their navy blue logo in the top right of the shirt whilst the national England crest is situated in the top left. The only other detail on the shirt includes a navy blue button strip below the collar and a small navy blue sleeve trim. The kit is completed with light blue shorts and socks that contain small white patches.
