England 2010/12 home kit
Following the disappointing performances at the 2010 World Cup, European nation England have officially revealed their new home shirt that they will be wearing throughout the 2012 European Championship qualifying campaign.
Everybody associated with the England national team will hope that the unveiling of the new shirt will be a step to forgetting the disastrous 2010 World Cup campaign. Two unconvincing draws with the USA and Algeria was followed by a scrappy victory over Slovenia which advanced them into the knockout stages. However, a meeting with old foes Germany turned into a disaster with England on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline. Fabio Capello will have to restore his and his team’s reputation in the Euro 2012 qualification programme which sees them face Montenegro, Bulgaria, Switzerland and Wales. The team got off to the perfect start several days ago with a 4-0 victory over Bulgaria.

The new 2010/11 England home shirt is predominately white in the same retro style as the previous effort worn throughout the 2010 World Cup. However, there have been numerous changes to give this design it’s own individuality. The most notable of these is the numerous multicoloured miniscule crosses that are present on the shoulders and upper back. Also, there is a new white V neck collar which replaces the previous polo neck attempt. Elsewhere, manufacturers Umbro place their blue logo in the top right of the shirt whilst the traditional blue and red three lions national badge is situated in the top left. A single white star is positioned above the badge to represent England’s sole World Cup triumph in 1966.

The new shirt will be available to buy from October 12th and is currently available to pre-order.
