New England 2010/12 Goalkeeper kit

Following the recent official release of the new England away kit, global manufacturers Umbro have also constructed a brand new England goalkeeper kit that will be worn at the same time the new red away kit is donned.

There is likely to be a big battle to wear this new shirt as the England number one position is far from secured. David James seemed to have made the place his own but a number of injuries has seen Robert Green stake his claim in recent times. Joe Hart’s magnificent form for Birmingham has seen him become a genuine contender whilst Paul Robinson and Ben Foster will hope to put a series of blunders behind them and prove themselves worthy of the shirt.

Under Fabio Capello, the team will be hopeful of progressing beyond the quarter finals which has been their major stumbling block in recent tournaments. The group stage draw has been kind to them with USA, Slovenia and Algeria expected to be brushed aside effortlessly. Likely opponents in the second round are either Serbia, Ghana or Australia. If the team overcomes that challenge, they may well meet France or Argentina in the quarter finals.

The new England away goalkeeper kit contains a simplistic yellow shirt with white cuffs in the same retro style as the new away kit. Manufacturers Umbro place their white logo in the top right whilst the national “three lions” badge is situated in the top left. A single star is place above the badge to represent England’s World Cup triumph in 1966. Other kit details include yellow shorts with a white stripe down the side and yellow socks with a white foot segment.

The shirt is available to purchase from kitbag.com at £44.99 without printing and £59.99 for “David James Number 1″ printing on the back. The shorts and socks are bought seperately with them retailing at £19.99 and £7.99 respectively.
